The font used throughout this site is Verdana. Microsoft's
new Verdana typeface family consists of four TrueType fonts created
specifically to address the challenges of on-screen display. Designed
by world renowned type designer Matthew Carter, and hand-hinted
by leading hinting expert, Monotype's Tom Rickner, these sans serif
fonts are unique examples of type design for the computer screen.
Another reason for the legibility of these fonts on the screen
is their generous width and spacing.
Verdana a sans serif named for the verdant
Seattle area and Georgia, a brilliant serif named after a tabloid
headline about alien heads found in Georgia, which was then used
to set test headlines. These fonts are available for free
download at www.microsoft.com/truetype/
The font used in our logo is ITC Officina
Serif.
To best extend the range of the ITC Officina family, Erik Spiekermann
and his team at MetaDesign added a sans serif companion face in
two weights. ITC Officina Sans (along with its serifed sister typeface)
is a good choice for just about any typesetting that needs a bright,
up-to-date look, not only memos and faxes. (from www.adobe.com)
